ron, I don't think the grade will matter much for a major. If Zonte proves that their exploration model found copper, it is more a matter of more drilling to find economic deposits of size.

The majors are interested because it is a large district scale project that has potential for large deposits, its an IOCG and it is in a stable geopolitcal location. The other highlight is it would be a new copper belt that has very little exploration drilling.

Excellent find lynnsa10, keep it up, Gambler, hoping Zonte's grades will be higher than 0.56 %, otherwise, the share price will stay flat, maybe it will take around 0.85 % to 1 % of copper for the share price to move up,

I'm not a geologist, I asked what percentage of copper is needed to attract a major, no one answered.

Pasta, Zonte decided to concentrate in Newfoundland instead of Yukon, more potentiel and Victoria Gold is doing the drilling for now, you must have forgot I presume.

Thanks Lynnsa, so Barrick sees 0.56% as very profitable. That is just copper, Cross Hills should also have some gold and/or silver that will help the equation.

Pasta, I think the biggest problem is a crap market. All my junior positions suck. I do agree there has been a lack of results with no decent drill assays in years.

Lets see if this changes. I was looking at Barrick's Lumwana Mine because it is near Midnight Sun's property. Barrick is spending $2 billion to expand and increase production. The current production plan shows that 537 million tonnes of ore grading 0.56% Cu will be mined between 2014 and 2038. The ore, which is predominantly sulphide, is treated through a conventional sulphide flotation plant, producing copper concentrate for smelting. Their M&I resources come in at a grade of 0.5% copper

I hear Midnight Sun, thinks they could find a deposit closer to 0.6% or 0.7%. I thought I would post this here to give some context to assays that we should see from Zonte, probably in February some time

Ron, I think the barrier is more like lack of results over the many years, very limited money supplies, poor performance history, no interest from majors.
Lack of direction...... are we a gold company? copper company? do we drill in NFLD or Yukon? A bit of back and forth but today its NFLD. Do we rely on Columbia courts?
So much interest companies are knocking down the data room door.
Its a bit unbelievable.
The stock price reflects the history of this company. I am surprised the stock price is not lower.
Unless they hit something big with this drill result the stock price will likely drop much lower.

We can't seem to go over $0.09, for the moment there is a psychological barrier !!
