More signs that the Bond market is showing some cracks

U.S. Treasuries Here is how Peter Boockvar summed up the situation: In case you didn’t see, on Friday at 4pm the Treasury International Capital flow data for July was released and it continues to be a big focus of mine. For a 4th straight month foreigners were net sellers of US notes and bonds. They sold a net $13.1b in July which brings the year to date level of selling to $156b which compares to net selling of $20b in 2015, net buying of $165b in 2014, $41b in 2013 and $400b in both 2011 and 2012. This level of selling is unprecedented going back to when data collection started on this in 1977…

Have a look at this video with Swanson and Skarica, they talk a lot about the bond market effecting the Friday sell off. It is almost a hour long video but the bond part is in first 20 minutes. Some good comments too on corporate stock buy backs while Insiders are selling.

Looks like the stock market might have taken it's cue from the bond market. 30 year Bond started to head south around 10 - 11am Friday and stocks followed, you can see on the chart here the 30 year broke support at 168 - 24 and kaboom!!!

Thanks for the comments, the market has very poor fundamentals to be at these levels, 4 or 5 qtrs a row in earnings decline, retail sales flat, the PMI coming down as mentioned here. Job numbers mediocre at best and need birth death rate padding.

Apple, a market leader the stock is in a bear market trend

I expect the S&P to come down to at least 2050 - 2100 for first support

Yes great call Ron, markets really had no fundamental support to be so high

Talking heads blaming Korea and Germany, certainly can never be anything wrong in the great USA

www.reuters.com/article/us-global-markets-idUSKCN11F02H

Geopolitical jitters added to the sour mix after North Korea conducted its fifth and biggest nuclear test and said it had mastered the ability to mount a warhead on a ballistic missile, ratcheting up a threat that its rivals and the United Nations have been powerless to contain.

German exports fell sharply in July, shrinking the overall trade surplus for the fourth consecutive month - something not seen since 1992 in the euro zone's largest economy.

This is not what you see in a strong economy. The oil price decline is suppose to be over all positive and that did not help either. To me just must be too much money with no place to go so flows into stocks and Gold

Quite amazing markets. all 3 indexes making new highs despite an earnings recession

95% have reported for Q2 2016, the blended earnings decline for the S&P 500 is -3.2%. The second quarter marks the first time the index has recorded five consecutive quarters of year-over-year declines in earnings since Q3 2008 through Q3 2009.

And Q3 does not look much better with more than double giving negative guidance . For Q3 2016, 72 S&P 500 companies have issued negative EPS guidance and 30 S&P 500
companies have issued positive EPS guidance.

Another reason we are coming to a place here like Playstocks, unless you have 750K to invest you 2nd rate. These idiots keep killing the goose that once laid the Golden eggs.

Clients with less than $750,000 are now considered "mass affluent," meaning they may not get the same service as top customers because their financial needs are simpler, said Kendra Thompson, who heads the wealth and asset management division of consulting firm Accenture. Industry sources say that figure was closer to $250,000 before the financial crisis.
